Well that was a largely unexpected break from the world of the blog I could of course give you the excuse that I’ve spent the last month attempting to write a 50,000 word novel, so didn’t have the time to blog. But thanks mainly to an annoying ear problem, my 2008 novel plans were ditched quite a while ago I could therefore give you the excuse that my entire month has been spent being rather pathetic with an annoying ear problem, so didn’t feel like blogging. But if I’m honest, the ear problem cleared after a few weeks (yes a few weeks ), so I can’t really use that one either…

The obvious and commonly used excuse in the blogging world is that ‘oh I simply had nothing to blog about‘, but again if I’m perfectly honest I did… But in much the same way that an abandoned half finished novel is always hard to pick back up, I’ve simply found it soooooooooooooo damn hard to type in the simplest of blog posts recently and I’ve no idea why

It has been a busy time of the year for commissions though…

I now need to rush off and hastily rename all of my ‘sculptures’

Is sometimes the best kind…

Will be remembered as the day that my opportunist dog escaped from the house and promptly took himself to the park… The day that my exhaust-pipe fell off my car, only to be repaired by a drunken man with a found cable-tie… And the day that I made a pair of mahooooosive Converse Baseball Boots…

I’m hoping that Friday 6th will be a slightly less eventful day

Are something I’ve always fancied having a bash it, but for one reason or another I’ve always put it off… This year however I’ve done loads and they really are one of the most rewarding, therapeutic and surprisingly easy ways of making art I’ve found…

So, with a hammer, an old mirror, a box of old tiles and a bucket load of glue I’m now all set to tackle our garden table… when it stops pissing it down

Last week I started work on a mural on a stretch of disused canal. The canal bridge was riddled with graffiti and was in desperate need of a bit of artistic touching up…

Spent all last week painting in the sunshine, listening to all the nice comments from passing walkers. You can’t beat a bit of job satisfaction.

Since the weekend the mural has been pissed on nightly, we’ve been told to ‘fuck off’ with permanent black markers and last night we had a wheelie bin full of rubbish dumped and burnt under the bridge

The job satisfaction & patience is slowly disappearing
