Branding…

And I must point out that  I’m talking about the business type here as opposed to the heavy duty tattooing that some people favour… I’ve always been secretly (I don’t know why??) fascinated by people’s loyalty to certain brands and what that actually tells you about those people. It’s probably just my urge to be really nosey!!! Either way, I for one am hopelessly blinkered and loyal when it comes to branding… So for example, this…

tells you that I love all things sexy and shiny, regardless of their many faults and flaws icon_rolleyes am an out and out snob when it comes to food shopping, am hopelessly addicted to the best shoes on the planet (I’ve lost count of the amount of pairs I own!!!), even if they are truly shite in the winter icon_eek drink far too much of the black stuff, would love to own another Alfa regardless of their many faults and flaws icon_rolleyes I would also love to finally understand how to properly use the wonderful WordPress,  I again love all things sexy and shiny, regardless of their many faults and flaws icon_rolleyes am stupidly loyal to my Epson printers, despite the fact that mine is currently broken!!! and I will only ever buy the Guardian & the Observer… I’ve no idea why I do this, but I always do??? And I’m sure, deep down, this says a lot about me icon_confused

I could easily compile a list of brands that I won’t touch even if you paid me, regardless of their many assets and plus points (I’m just not a Nokia kinda person, sorry!!!).

Again, the pure nosey side of me would love to see other people’s list of brands, but that could easily turn into one of those awful meme’s, which I hate, so I’ll leave it with mine for now… But I reckon I could already allocate a few brands to a few of my readers icon_wink

Thursday 5th June…

Will be remembered as the day that my opportunist dog escaped from the house and promptly took himself to the park… The day that my exhaust-pipe fell off my car, only to be repaired by a drunken man with a found cable-tie… And the day that I made a pair of mahooooosive Converse Baseball Boots…

I’m hoping that Friday 6th will be a slightly less eventful day icon_eek

Lost – With sensible footwear…

For all those who thought that the recent death of the lovely Shannon had brought a sorry demise to my Lost viewing… Sorry, but I’m still very much hooked icon_smile

Hooked, addicted, obsessed or just a complete anorak, I’m really not too sure… I’ll let you be the judge of that!!!

This week we saw flash-backs from the life of public enemy No1/Shannon murdering evil witch, Anna Lucia… Turns out she was a cop who got shot when she was pregnant, lost her baby, almost died, and shot dead the guy who’d done it… So she’s had a rough ride, but she’s still a Shannon murdering evil witch

Apart from spitting venom at Anna Lucia, I spent most of this week’s episode spotting just how many of the survivors had very sensible footwear (Anorak it is then!!!). Jack, John, Sawyer, Michael, Sayid, Anna Lucia (boo hiss), Mr. Ecko, and even Kate all possessed pretty sturdy walking boot/hiking boot footwear. Now I don’t know about you, but if I was to board a plane from Sydney to Los Angeles I’d probably have about 5 pairs of shoes with me; a pair of Converse on my feet, flip flops, smart going out shoes, strappy sandals & 3 inch heel boots stashed into my case. Which pretty much pinpoints my love affair with Shannon; she was never seen in anything that remotely looked like sensible footwear icon_smile

I’m pretty sure that even if for some bizarre reason I did have a pair of sensible ‘stranded on an island’ pair of shoes in my case… I’d still pull the strappy sandals out first icon_biggrin

Trend setter, who me???

I am, and have been for many years, in love with Converse baseball boots…I’ve got loads of pairs, all in different colours and all in very different states of repair!!! I realise that the average bloke is quite happy to have no more than two pairs of shoes in his wardrobe, but trannies aren’t really your average bloke.
When I first started wearing them all those years ago they were pretty hard to find, which made them quite unique…Which I kinda liked (anything to be a little different…). A few years ago they started to get a little more popular, and all of a sudden my shoes weren’t so unique…Which kinda pissed me off a little (I hate following trends…), so I started to hunt out unusual designs for my Converse boots. These were a little more expensive than the traditional ones, but at least nobody else was wearing them!!! Today Converse baseball boots are bloody everywhere, and they’re in all shapes, styles & colours. I recently found a very rare pink & grey pair from American, a week later I was stood next to a girl in Edinburgh airport wearing exactly the same boots!!!

On a possitive note all the kids I teach now think that I’m “well cool” because of my “wicked shoes” icon_smile

Flickr

I know I’m a bit crap with these things, but recently I’ve had real problems trying to upload images to flickr from my mobile??? I did actually have it working (yes honestly I did) a while ago, but it’s suddenly stopped working??? Anyone else experiencing problems???

Blogger

Mmmmm…. And now blogger won’t let me upload images to this post??? It must be a conspiracy…
