And I must point out that  I’m talking about the business type here as opposed to the heavy duty tattooing that some people favour… I’ve always been secretly (I don’t know why??) fascinated by people’s loyalty to certain brands and what that actually tells you about those people. It’s probably just my urge to be really nosey!!! Either way, I for one am hopelessly blinkered and loyal when it comes to branding… So for example, this…

tells you that I love all things sexy and shiny, regardless of their many faults and flaws am an out and out snob when it comes to food shopping, am hopelessly addicted to the best shoes on the planet (I’ve lost count of the amount of pairs I own!!!), even if they are truly shite in the winter drink far too much of the black stuff, would love to own another Alfa regardless of their many faults and flaws I would also love to finally understand how to properly use the wonderful WordPress,  I again love all things sexy and shiny, regardless of their many faults and flaws am stupidly loyal to my Epson printers, despite the fact that mine is currently broken!!! and I will only ever buy the Guardian & the Observer… I’ve no idea why I do this, but I always do??? And I’m sure, deep down, this says a lot about me

I could easily compile a list of brands that I won’t touch even if you paid me, regardless of their many assets and plus points (I’m just not a Nokia kinda person, sorry!!!).

Again, the pure nosey side of me would love to see other people’s list of brands, but that could easily turn into one of those awful meme’s, which I hate, so I’ll leave it with mine for now… But I reckon I could already allocate a few brands to a few of my readers

Just a little word of warning… I’m in a tinkering kind of mood at the moment and any regular readers of this blog will know the consequences of that… Basically my blog could go pop at any moment

I’ve been wanting to revamp the site for a while now and last week I set to work. Not being what you’d call an expert on css code design I usually trawl through the many WordPress themes on the Internet and customize/completely ruin, to give it my own unique style The only problem however, and this is a real problem with WordPress (which I love) at the moment, is that, unlike Blogger (which I grew to hate) there is no preview feature when editing a new theme. So basically you have to blindly (well it is if you’re anything like me!!!) muck about with the css code until you think it will look ok, then open a bottle of red and hit the switch theme button I’ve done it many times before and there’s always been massive problems… Well this time I wanted to get it right, so I’m taking my time

So while I’m taking my time if you notice a few things disappearing or moving about then you’ll know why

So, why the long absence I hear you cry? Well technically I don’t, as I think the feed that readers subscribe to, died when the site was down… So I’m feeling a bit Billy-no-mates at the moment, until people stumble back onto the site

But as I’ve not blogged for so long I’ll manfully plough on with this post…

Basically my site came up for renewal while I was away on holiday, which shouldn’t really be a problem, as I’ve told my hosting company to automatically renew the site when the time is right. Unfortunately I’ve switched credit cards since I told them to do this and forgot to alter my account details… So they didn’t renew it!!! I then returned from France to discover my site was down and suddenly fell into a ‘why the hell am I continuing to do this tranny apathy?’ that occassionally strikes the poor unsuspecting tranny. I left the site to rust away in cyberspace while I wallowed in my tranny apathy

And then snapped out of it, as we usually do, and decided to get the site back live again… And then my car died, which swallowed up my spare cash and delayed my return for a little while longer…

So there you go… excuses, excuses & excuses

Oh… and I’m now working on an updated version of WordPress, which may explain if things are looking a little odd… If indeed anyone is looking???

It may take a bit longer than 5 seconds and to be honest it might not self-destruct at all. I’m probably being very over dramatic. But WordPress have just released their newest version of blog software to download and the last time I attempted to upgrade to a newer version I fucked it up completely It took hours of online chatting with my web hosts to get the site back from the black hole that I’d hurled it into!!!

I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be taking the plunge to upgrade, but I just thought I’d forewarn you of any impending blackouts

Why oh why do I tinker with my website whilst drinking red wine!!!

Thought I’d upgrade my WordPress to the latest version last night… And my blog soon went BANG & disappeared!!! Thanks to all those nice people at u2-web.com for getting my blog back online

I just need to find my old blog template now…

I’m still finding my feet a wee bit with WordPress, and I have noticed a few glitches (cock-ups…) with my template, but I am now here… And thank God, because Blogger was beginning to get a real pain in the backside.

I found a pretty neat website which offered advice on moving all of my old posts & comments over to here… I followed the instructions to the letter, glugged my way through a bottle of red, pushed all the right buttons, and waited for my info to magically appear…

The posts arrived as promised, but for some strange reason all 105 posts appeared to have been written on December 31st 1969, and were listed in this blog in a backwards order!!! The comments have so far not materialised…

The easy option here, would have been to say ‘Oh well not to worry… that was the old blog… Let’s start a fresh.’ Well I’m not like that… For the last few days I’ve been altering the date on all 105 posts, and I’ve started to cut & paste all of my comments over!!!

Don’t ask me why, but I’m getting a great deal of satisfaction out of doing this!!!
